Lucy and Melanie concept 1

Many moons ago, I had an idea for a forum adventure. It was a good idea! But I always wondered, if I had the time and energy to make a traditional comic out of it, would it be better? I've finally decided that yes, this idea of mine is better suited to a less rigid medium. So I'm going to sit on this concept until such time as I can do it justice.


Top Left:
Lucy - The Hero of Light. Has an unusual sleep disorder where she can only stay awake for four hours at a time, and sleeps four hours at a time as well. Likes anime, video games, and the color pink. On her 15th birthday, she receives three presents from her grandmother: A ribbon to pin on her shirt, a mysterious box, and a black teddy bear that comes alive whenever she's awake. But when she goes to sleep afterward, she wakes up as a pink teddy bear - the one to her right - in a strange room. And it seems wherever she is, she's not on Earth anymore.

Middle Left:
Melanie - The Hero of Darkness. Has the same sleep disorder as Lucy. Likes music and movies and is an aspiring author. On her 15th birthday (the same day as Lucy's) she receives three presents from her grandmother: An amulet shaped like a teardrop, a mysterious journal, and a pink teddy bear that comes alive whenever she's awake. Seeing a pattern yet? When she goes to sleep, she wakes up as the black teddy bear to her right, and later wakes up to find her grandma's bear has come to life.

Bottom Left:
Blake - Oh, you didn't want spoilers? Too late! If you've seen the rabbit to his right you've already been spoiled. And the rest of this paragraph is just going to be further spoilers so skip to the next one if you don't wanna be spoiled. Sometime during Lucy and Melanie's Adventure in Yin-Yang World, Melanie decides she doesn't want any part of this magical girl bullshit and takes off her amulet, severing her connection with the black bear. She is transported back to Earth, but the amulet isn't. This is a Very Bad Thing. Some time later, she meets our boy Blake here, and through a brief moment of physical contact, a failsafe is initiated and Blake becomes the Champion. In plushy rabbit form, he now has to find the amulet and prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.

Top Middle:
Dimitri - The man behind the Heroes. Descended from a long line of Overseers and trained since birth for the job, Dimitri is the one making sure the Heroes don't die on the battlefield or get hopelessly lost. He owns a box and a journal identical to the girls' and uses them to send them supplies and information. He likes coffee and books. Also he lives on the moon.

Everything Else:
The Lunar Corps - The world this adventure takes place on is populated by two races of elves: The white-haired, pink-eyed Light elves that live on the Light side of the world and the black-haired, blue-eyed Dark elves that live on - you guessed it - the Dark side. The world is also besieged by monsters both Light and Dark. That's where the Lunar Corps come in. Light elves wear masks and clothing infused with Darkness to protect themselves from the Dark monsters' attacks and destroy the monsters with their Light magic, and vice versa. They are dedicated to serving the Heroes.
